God, furthermore, said to Moses, "Thus you shall say to the sons of Israel, 'The LORD, the God of your fathers, the God of Abraham, the God of Isaac, and the God of Jacob, has sent me to you.' This is My name forever, and this is My memorial-name to all generations. (NASB ©1995)

Exodus 3:6 He said also, "I am the God of your father, the God of Abraham, the God of Isaac, and the God of Jacob." Then Moses hid his face, for he was afraid to look at God.

this is my name for ever. The name here referred to is that which immediately precedes Yehowah, which we translate Lord, the name by which God had been known from the creation of the world, and by which he is known to the present day. Yehowah, from Hawah, to be, subsist, signifies He who is, or subsists, i.e., eminently and in a manner superior to all other beings; and is essentially the same with eheyeh, I AM, in the preceding verse.
