It appears from 1ch 16 where the former part of this Psalm, as far as the 16th verse is found with little variation, that David composed it at the removal of the ark to Mount Zion, and he himself probably enlarged it afterwards with the glorious detail of God's merciful dealings with Abraham and his posterity till their settlement in the land of Promise.
